Richmond Park in Surrey
Richmond Park in Surrey manage a very successful wild life public awareness orgainsation called Holly Lodge. Every summer, they have a raising awareness weekend which is open to the general public. At one of those events, I was asked to organize a drop-in tent, which gave members of the public a taster session on ‘Communicating with Disabled Children.’ To encourage the public to consider ways to communicate with disabled people, a nature trail was set up with the use of Makaton Symbols. Prizes were awarded to members of the public who completed the nature trail course.
